Dr Joshua Gelber
Ever since I can remember, helping people has always been my passion. Even today, I still get the greatest enjoyment in helping people in fulfilling their lives.
I don’t create rocket scientists or olympic athletes, my aspirations are more modest. I simply help people overcome the physical pain that overwhelms their everyday lives and obstructs the path that prevents them being their best.
This is why I chose to be a chiropractor. I saw that the physical pain and suffering that so many people silently endure, prevented them from enjoying a fuller life that most take for granted.
My approach is different. In addition to alleviating the symptoms of your pain, I try hard to understand how this is affecting you and to learn about you as a person, and together, chart a course on the road to total wellness.
I’ve learned through experience, that chiropractic is more than making adjustments – it’s creating a holistic approach that is individually crafted to your needs so that pain will not impede your journey to a richer and happier life.
I would be delighted to speak to you about your health. An initial consultation is free and will allow me to learn about you and how I can help you.
Call (416-967-4466) for an appointment. I look forward to meeting you.
Grace Smith – Clinic Manager
I have been working with Dr. Gelber since April 2005 – as a Chiropractic Assistant for a team of chiropractors, graduating to Dr Gelber’s Office Manager in 2011. I’ve taken great pride in providing the best service possible to all practice members.
I came into chiropractic, knowing nothing of “natural” health care. Now, I share how beneficial and absolutely life changing it’s been to have chiropractic care be a part of my life. I couldn’t imagine life without it!
I received a Bachelor of Social Work from Ryerson Polytechnic University in 1998, including a Minor in Public Policy & Administration. The most important thing I can offer to everyone I meet and encounter on my journey, whether friends, co workers, or strangers, is compassion and understanding.
I enjoy reading, drawing & painting, and contributing daily to an online meditative blog. My future aspirations include working with people, one on one, to take back their health through nutritional cleansing and smarter eating. I firmly believe that the body is a beautiful machine designed to carry us through our lives, and that it is our right to provide it the best possible care so that we can flourish while serving others.
Everyone in my life have been inspiring to me over the years, and I’d like to take the opportunity to thank them. Thank you!
In 2009, one of my practice members, a student at the University of Toronto, asked me to shadow our clinic operations for “course credit”. I wasn’t sure what it was, but here’s what it spiraled into:
Every year since then I have had the pleasure of 2-6 students assisting Grace and myself in day-to-day operations. They are kinesiology majors (the study of human movement), and are poised to make career choices in their near futures. I fell in love with inspiring these students to be passionate chiropractic students OR NOT – they end up more confident if this profession is right for them or to head in another certain direction. We appreciate their eagerness to learn and contribute in the real world before they choose a career.
You’ll see different students daily, over a full school year (2 semesters), as they perform numerous support tasks such as nerve system progress exams, office concierge duties and research summaries. They have been hand picked, and are a delight to mentor.
These are my current 2017-18 picks.
These are my 2016-17 picks.
What does Dr. Josh the Chiropractor do?
A common misconception about chiropractors is that all we do is adjust the bones in your spine. Whereas the spine is an intrinsic part of our focus in maintaining your good health, our primary objective is to make sure that your body’s vital nerve supply isn’t obstructed, causing you pain and discomfort that interferes with your health and well being.
Being well connected.
Your nervous system is the “connection” that allows all functions of your body to operate as they should. It is the “Energy Highway”. If these connections are interrupted or misaligned in any way, you may experience pain and other related problems. The results could be years of unnecessary agonizing suffering.
This is why we check your spinal bones to see if their alignment is interfering with your body’s vital nerve supply. Symptoms of any chronic misalignment can manifest itself in many ways that are not immediately apparent. In addition to obvious pain, it can easily affect sleep habits, energy levels and your general well-being.
An alternative way to better health.
Chiropractors spend 4 postgraduate years training for their profession and are licensed to practice only after passing a vigorous criteria. They offer an alternate approach to remedying chronic pain that circumvents the use of drugs and other invasive procedures. Much more than adjusting bones, it’s a safe and healthy way to improve the quality of your life.
