How much time will I have to commit?
Chiropractic can easily fit into your busy lifestyle and schedule. The premise for chiropractic care is similar to orthodontic braces – Gentle pressure, with repetition, over time. No one wants to admit it, but healing takes time. With us, chiropractic care is a gradual application of gentle forces to create lasting changes in your spine, nervous system, and therefore your overall health.
Here are some facts:
. Your First Visit (30-40 min) – is designed to get acquainted with the Doctor, review the reason(s) for your consultation, and be clear about how Dr Gelber can potentially help you. It involves a thorough look at where you are, and where you’d like to get to.
. Second visit (30-60 min) – this is your longest visit with Dr Gelber, and has 2 parts: a review of what’s normal (x-rays), a brief conversation about why you are where you are, i.e. what caused you to be in your current state of health – these usually occur in a group settings with other potential patients who have consulted with Dr Gelber; then, a private review of your x-rays and exam results – this visit will include your first adjustment if you are ready to begin the process of getting back to health!
. Subsequent visits (3-7 min) – adjustments are straightforward; they are applied in repetition to create momentum, permanent change, and to allow the body to express healing better.
In addition:
. Progress checks are 5-10 min on top of your adjustment visit, to confirm how things are going; these are less than 6 times per year
. Available before or after a busy work schedule – we understand you might work 9-5, so we work before and after to ensure you don’t feel more stressed about leaving work
. There are variable lifestyle changes, most of which are not cumbersome or time consuming – little changes, applied consistently, have a greater impact than “cold turkey” quitting of negative habits
. They are dependent on your individual health status, and desired goals/outcomes
Over time, the frequency of your visits are reduced as your healing and regulating capacity returns, and thus, your health improves.
