A while back I shared with you my own struggles with a painful shoulder.  I’d been having decent success recovering when, out of the blue, I got an idea.

You see, I’d met an RMT/Osteopath named Ryan P. when he became a member of my practice (so I worked on him first).  I knew he was downstairs at Sutherland Chan, but I was already seeing a few other therapists and for a little while, I was hesitant to reverse the doctor/patient relationship.  Alas, I decided around the holidays to go see him, “all in”.

I now find Ryan to be very warm and caring, and I enjoy his quirky sense of humour (probably because it has lame moments like my own).  Best part?  The detailed and unique approach he uses took my recovery to a new level! (I wasn’t overly surprised, more just laughing at myself for not exploring this option earlier).

Here’s the point: If you find yourself plateau’d in your healing… Different hands can make all the difference. It could be there’s simply a need for an alternate style of care. Now in my case, Ryan’s were additional hands.  I still continue to see my regular chiropractor and have no intention of stopping.  With that said, it’s important for me that my patients know we should ALWAYS be working toward a higher level of health, function, or comfort.  And I never like when people avoid telling me they aren’t noticing value while under care.

I guess other professionals would shirk or steer clear of such things. Not me. I’ve long tried to separate what I do from the “revolving door” feel of many medical doctors’ offices.  You should never shy away from giving me the scoop on what you’re feeling.  There might be more I can do. And if not, I’ll be pleased to call in “reinforcements”. All that’s to say, if you’re looking for a great RMT or Osteopath, I highly recommend Ryan.  Like I said, I’ve seen results with his methods.  I’ve got more of his cards at the front desk now, or give him a call at (416) 960-4769 and tell the staff and Ryan that Dr. Josh sent you. I know I’ve already sent some of you his way.

Or, if you’d prefer to learn more about him first, ask me!  He doesn’t have much online presence to check out first, but he will if I have anything to say about it.

And if there’s anything else I can do to help, reply to this email and let me know. That does it for this installment.

One of my favorite quotes is by Hippocrates: “Healing is a matter of time, but it’s sometimes also a matter of opportunity.”  With that in mind, I like to keep a solid rolodex of health support providers on hand.

I recommend you do too!

“What started as convenience turned into an incredible experience. A few adjustments in, I found myself feeling taller, having less soreness after physical activity, and even sleeping better. To top it all off, Grace who runs a really tight ship is the greatest staff member at any clinic/medical office I’ve ever gone to. I cannot say enough good things about Annex Family Chiropractic!”  Shakeeb A.
